Heddal bygdetun

Heddalsvatnet rural museum is open from 15 June 15. August, at. 10 to 18 each day. By prior arrangement, the opening up of groups out of season. On Heddalsvatnet village square is collected buildings from the old farming community. All buildings have been moved to the museum from the surrounding district. Houses' location gives an impression of how a prosperous farm may have appeared in this area about 200 years ago.

Rambergstugo is the main house in the yard, and in this building's second floor, one can see "uppstugo" which rose painter Olav Hansson painted in 1784.

In the folk museum you will also croft Hola and Fyrileivstugo. In the latter living room interior is carved and painted by woodcarver and painter Olav rose Fyrileiv.

A few steps from the village yard is Heddal Stave Church. The church is about 800 years old and the largest stave church. The area stave church and the folk museum is located on is protected as a cultural landscape and can be experienced through cultural trail "A rise in time."
